Phi Beta Lambda brings business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. PBL is the premier education association preparing students not only for careers in business but for success in life. PBL members are encouraged to take on leadership positions and run for local, state, or national office in PBL. PBL members participate in activities, organize community service projects, interact with local companies and their executives, attend state and national leadership conferences, and serve in a leadership position.
PBL focuses professional career development on encouraging capable, aggressive business leadership, strengthening confidence in and understanding the American business enterprise, encouraging individual members to contribue to the improvement of the community, and helps in developing character, citizenship, and patriotism. PBL here at Hagerstown Community College is in its second year. The club has held several meetings focuing on interviewing skills, building wealth from a young age, dress for success, etiquette dinners, and has also held and participated in many fundraisers on campus.
PBL is recognized and endorsed by many national organizations focused on education and management attainment. PBL has a great website www.fbla-pbl.org that contains information about the national organization and the many services that are available to members.
